Red Dog Cinemas and Zubin Mehta’s summer concert

Red Dog Cinemas, the Costa del Sol’s leading leisure venue, continues its initiative to bring classical music, opera and ballet to its screens. On this occasion, the cinema in Puerto Banús will screen live the iconic ‘Summer Concert’ by the acclaimed Berlin Philharmonic, conducted by the renowned maestro Zubin Mehta with pianist Yefim Bronfman.

In an effort to continue to strengthen the ties between music and cinema, Red Dog Cinemas has brought renowned operas and ballets to its screens, and now offers the unique opportunity to enjoy a live broadcast of the most sought-after orchestra on the planet from its major auditorium in the German city of Berlin.

A special night at Red Dog Cinemas

The event will take place on Friday 16 June, starting at 20:00 at the Red Dog Cinemas. But music will not be the only thing that will delight the attendees, as the leisure space located in Puerto Banús has prepared a special aperitif to accompany this unique musical evening.

With more than 60 years of collaboration with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Zubin Mehta will conduct this special summer concert, a milestone in the classical music season. This time, it will be even more momentous because the famous Indian conductor will be joined by the outstanding pianist Yefim Bronfman. Two travelling companions with an impressive synergy on stage.

Tickets for this unique session at Red Dog Cinemas are now available and can be purchased online at the website https://reddogcinemas.com/cinemas/movie/?movie=782.

Zubin Mehta, whose musical talent blossomed in Bombay in 1936 under the tutelage of his father, the renowned violinist Mehli Mehta, has left an indelible mark on the world of classical music. After briefly exploring the field of medicine, Mehta embarked on a journey to Vienna in 1954, where his passion for conducting blossomed under the guidance of Hans Swarowsky at the Akademie für Musik. Since then, he has masterfully conducted the Vienna, Berlin and Israel Philharmonics, recently celebrating an astonishing 50-year collaboration with the latter. In addition, Yefim Bronfman has captivated audiences around the world with his piano prowess, establishing himself as one of today’s most prominent and in-demand performers.

Red Dog Cinemas’ initiative to bring opera and ballet back to the Costa del Sol began in October last year and has been extended until this month, with screenings of Mayerling, La bohème, The Nutcracker and Il Trovatore, among others. “We strive to offer unique cultural events that combine the passion for music with the magic of cinema, this time the majesty of the Berlin Philharmonic will be mixed with the quality of projection of our modern cinemas to offer an unforgettable moment to classical music lovers”, says Jorge Martín, Operations Director of Red Dog Cinemas.
